A fine choice of conversion, pop over to 16vmini and there is loads of info on the conversion.

What's gone wrong with the 998 then?

For andy, hes having issues with overheating on the supercharged mini, any suggestions?

I would check the compression on all of the cylinders first, If need be I will pop round.

Check the gauge! Rover gauges are appallingly bad, I've heard of several overheating Minis that have been fixed by changing the gauge.

just thinking if the pipe from the heater take off at the top of the head is routed straight back to where the return pipe from teh heater would go (andy doesnt have a heater fitted) would this mean that hot water is effecitvely going back into the engine which would raise the temperature?
Would it be best to block the heater take off?

Also Andy have you checked the compressions yet?

But as rob says it could be the sender or the guage or even the voltaghe regulator may be having troubles, does the fuel guage work and does the temperature fluctuate depending on revs?

Thanks for all your help on this matter but I dont think this is a easy fix it still overheats with no thermostat, as for what happens next im not sure as ive really had enough (might even brake and sell it for parts).

Cheers Andy.

Do you have a sleeve in there instead?

Hi Rob, thanks for your input, ive just done some reading up on sleeves and think I might give it a go with a 6 blade fan as well, and may use an expansion tank.

Cheers Andy.

Hi all, with the help of Gaz and a six blade fan the overheating problem has been solved, it still runs over the normal mark but im going put that down to timing and carb adjustment if not I can remove the thermostat and use the sleeve that ive ordered from mini spares.
Thanks again for your help.

Cheers Andy.

Have you had it set up on the rollers? If the fuel & timing are causing it to run hot it would suggest that it's slightly lean & advanced, neither are things you want if you're running boost.

are you using a heater in the car? i was told by slark that if your remove or have the heater turned off then you should have a bypass pipe installed as the water doesn't pass over the far side of the head causing over heaing problems...
